BROCCOLI SALAD WITH CASHEWS

1 Head broccoli (well washed and checked for bugs)
1 medium purple onion
1 cup mayonaisse
1 Tbsp vinegar
1 Tbsp sugar 
1 full teaspoon black pepper (DO NOT SKIMP--THIS IS WHAT ADDS THE UNIQUE FLAVOR)
salted cashews

Cut broccoli into small pieces. Toss with diced purple onion. Combine mayonaisse, vinegar, sugar and black pepper. Toss with broccoli. Refrigerate overnight to develop flavor. Place in decorative bowl and scatter salted cashews on top.
