Voices From the Ezras Nashim
This past Sunday Daven With Dov presented the first annual Donuts and Dreidels—A Chanukah Celebration. The Abishter blessed the day with perfect weather for an outdoor party and brought guests to enjoy the day, the weather and the celebration. Since we do not count Jews we are estimating that over sixty people were in attendance. These ranged in age from 2 weeks to senior citizens.
Entertainment was provided by the Kessler Family Band, Dovid Barman on tuba, Shauly Alfassi, Pat Brenner, Sivia Dreyfuss and members of the audience. There was singing and dancing, laughter and fun. The Kessler Family Band’s lead singer, Chayim Kessler, performed with gusto and style. He was accompanied by Tuvia on drums, Moshe as backup and Chanan on the clarinet. Mom, Michelle, served as manager and organizer for the band. We look forward to many joyous events with this wonderful family.
Dovid Barman plays an amazing tuba. In my musically uneducated fashion I never realized that the tuba can actually play melodies and support singing on its own. No wonder that Dovid won a full musical scholarship for college.
