A SPECIAL SECTION FOR THOSEWHO PREPARE FOR SHABBOS

AN OLD HEBREW EXPRESSION STATES: THOSE
WHO PREPARE FOR SHABBOS EAT ON SHABBOS

  Voices From the Ezras Nashim

It has been many months since I have put fingers to keyboard to write this page.  That does not mean that there is nothing to say.  Indeed I have been consumed with a growing need to express my feelings toward the increasing hostility of the Obama administration to Israel.  This week the problems of presidential incompetence reached new levels when American policy on “denuking” Israel was announced as the basis upon which the Obama administration seeks to contain a nuclear Iran.  Quite frankly it is bad enough that Obama seeks to reduce the United States' supply of nuclear weapons and to announce to the world what our actual supplies are, but he sinks to an entirely new level when he demands that a sovereign nation which has not selected him as its leader do the same.  There is no recognition on Obama's part that he is sitting on the back of a wolf as he crosses a river into a world wide crisis unless, of course, that is his actual goal.

Chazak Chasak Venischaszeik!!  Be strong, be strong and we will strengthen each other.  As we call out these words following the reading of this week's parsha may we be cognizant of the need for each of us as Jews to stand up for our brothers and sisters in Israel.  May we be blessed with the strength to support Israel and our right to exist there in peace.
