 Voices From the Ezras Nashim

It has been months since this voice has taken the time to express itself. The summer was really busy at Daven With Dov. Our summer learning program was very much expanded this year in terms of the number of men learning with our bachurim. The TREE (Torah: Reasoning, Education and Enlightenment ) concluded with a siyum and seudah. B'ezrat Hashem we are looking forward to next summer's program.

Toward the end of the summer a guest from Toronto, Patty Dolman, our ben bayit, Justin Blitzer and I entered a Cholent Cookoff. It was outdoors at a fabulous park and we all enjoyed the music and fresh air. Justin took first prize with his beef, potato, coconut milk cholent enhanced with cardamom, curry, peanut butter, cashew butter and whole cashews.

The fall holidays coincided with my return to teaching and an increase in my weekly work schedule. Years ago I used to develop a raging cold sometime between Sukkot and Simchat Torah. This year I renewed that custom.

As things settle into a more normal routine I look forward to sharing some thoughts I hope will be more profound than just a recounting of events.
