AN OLD HEBREW EXPRESSION STATES: THOSE
WHO PREPARE FOR SHABBOS EAT ON SHABBOS

 Voices From the Ezras Nashim

Earlier today a gunman burst into the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC and opened fire. A security guard was killed and the gunman wounded. Once again hate and intolerance have led to an attack on our people.

I have always been mystified by those who deny the holocaust.  The yemach shemo themselves kept records of their actions.  They intended to document their deeds so that all would know and believe what they had done.  Survivors surely did not tattoo themselves.  The Germans, Poles and others who lived within the vicinity of death camps did not imagine the smell of smoke and burning human flesh nor did they hallucinate the cries and screams they heard from trucks taking Jews into the death camps.

While I can understand that there are those who hate us because we are Jews and who would do us harm at any turn it seems strange that these people would deny that others felt like them and even acted on their feelings.  It would make more sense to me if they supported the cause they espouse and applauded the efforts of its heroes.  There really is no understanding antisemitism.  May HaShem bring us speedily to a time when each of us may sit under our own vine and fig tree and none shall make us afraid.
